THE PROBUS CLUB OF THE HILLS is for retired and semi-retired men and women seeking friendship and activity. The Club was founded in 1989.We meet at 10.30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month from February through to November at the GALSTON Club 21-25 Arcadia Road GALSTON. Partners of past members are invited to attend the meeting which is followed by lunch at the Club and also to participate in our many mixed outings and tours. For our monthly meeting, the Club opens for us at 10:00am for the meeting to commence at 10.30 a.m. and is typically two hours, with morning tea break followed by an invited speaker presenting a talk on the subject of his or her interest and expertise. Meetings close around 12.30p.m at which time we retire for lunch at the Club Bistro. Our activities currently include Extended coach tours, Day trips, Golf, Luncheons, Snooker, Barefoot bowls and Walking groups etc. As another example, we have a monthly meeting for members interested in finance and investment. The range of activities is only limited by the willingness of a member to organise other members who share his or her interest(s). Our Annual General Meeting is held in March. Any member may nominate herself or himself or any another member to fill an executive position on the Club’s committee. Any member may nominate to a non-executive role in organising an activity group within the Club. We encourage new members to take an active role in the Club’s organisation. It’s the quickest way to get to know others in the Club. Check out our activities on the website. You can seek further information by contacting our Membership Officer Bob Heyward by email [email protected] Join us at our monthly meetings or maybe come along and be part of one of our activities. You are welcome to decide whether we are the Club for you. President PROBUS CLUB OF THE HILLS INC. |
